Netgear routers talking together over wireless?

By abennettuk ·
I have currently got a standard wireless network thats connected to the internet via a cable modem, all working fine.

Just bought an xbox360 and would like to get it working over xbox live. Trouble is the xbox is a floor away from the router so I cant hard wire it. I dont really want to spend ?60(!?!?) on a wireless adapter for the xbox and was curious to know if its possible to get it working with another router.
I've borrowed a netgear DG834G from someone but am unsure how to configure the 2 routers up.
Is it possible to bridge them at all?

Gaming over wireless

by cvestal In reply to Netgear routers talking t ...

Gaming over wireless connection might not be the best idea. Obviously, in your case, you are not left with many options. I recommend spending the money for the wireless kit specifically designed for the xBox.

What you are suggesting would entail bridging the two routers, which is possible. But, in the long run the performance is not going to be what you are probably hoping.

Gaming is bandwidth intensive. Wireless connection as you described is not going to give you very good performance.

You've got to pay to play...
