netgear software problems

I can't load my net-gear software any more. It will load from the disk but it doesn't show up in the program list or the start list. After the software loads it doesn't let me get past the agreement.I think some thing got turned off or on that's not letting me finish the process. I even downloaded the update & it does the same thing.

a bit more detail would help

assuming this is a router, you can access the software built into it by typing the routers address in a browser
ie: 192.168.1.1 then hit enter

a number of things can cause the problem you are describing, such as attempting to install while an installation is already present, problems with windows installer itself, or even malware

see if u can uninstall the current version, reboot, n try again

netgear adapter

sorry I didn't say my adapter.on a wireless setup. As I said in the first forum it won't load to unload it. It's not in my control panel, or it's not in the start menu. Right now my windows found the hardware & my netgear adapter is working off windows program.

If this is an adapter........

.... and Windows recognizes it and installs default drivers and it works, then you don't need the install disk.

If Windows leaves it with a yellow exclamation mark on it in the Device Manager, then you need the correct drivers. Those come on a CD or you can download them from the manufacturer's web site if you can't get the CD to run.

You might also look to see if the drivers supplied on the CD, even the device itself, are designed for the version of Windows you're running.

What exactly is the model of this device and what operating system and version are you running?
