Netscape 7 & IE

By PeterPac ·
Is the new netscape poised to not work with a IE browser if the site you go to uses Netscape (the new version)in its setup. I noticed on some sites I cannot open certain pics or logos (I view source them and they are all Netscape)that I use to be able to previously. I have always been suspect to Aol now even more since they are anti MS. I have not changed any settings on IE6 browser or anything else on my computer.

Netscape 7 & IE

This has actually been a problem since Netscape 6.

It appears that AOL has improved their taking control.

In Netscape 6, all you had to do, was not check to have Netscape handle jpeg and other "typical" web file formats.

What I had to do to"restore" IE's ability to open these files was to delete the references to Netscape for the files types in Windows Explorer, and the registry, along with importing the IE file association keys from a machine that had not had Netscape installed.

My recomendation, use Mozilla or Opera instead of Netscape.

Chas
