Network connection using crossover cable

Hello my question is quite simple(i guess)
i have two computers first one using windows xp profesional and the other using windows 98 second edition
i try to makea little home network using a crossover network cable and i can make the two computers see each other
can some one tell me step by step how i can configure the two pc so they can see each other

Connect the 2 PCs, and have them both on.

Run the Network setup wizzard on the XP machine.

(Control Panel, Network Connections, Network Tasks, Set up a home network.)

When that PC is setup, you will make a floppy to run on the W98 PC to setit up.

That should be it.

does that wizard thingy set up the required user account on the XP machine for the windows 98 user?

It would be kinda hard to get the two computer to see each because of the different OS. If you need something from one computer try using the "Map Network Drive..." feature. To get into it you have to right click My Computer. Then highlight Map Network Drive. After that just select the drive you would want to call it. And type in:
//Name of computer/c$

It would ask for a user name and password.
Type it in and you would be in the other computer's c:
Have fun.
This map drive is very fun to use.
