Network connectivity

By Technoline06 ·
Hi

I've got 3 laptops at home and i want to create a network connectivity among them, allowing them to communicate with each other. How do i create that network connectivity and what tool do i need to fulfill that e.g. cables, connectors, software etc?

Best Regards

Well here it all depends on what you want to do

If you want a Wired Network you will at the very least need a Hub and some CAT Cables 5E or 6 depending on the speed of the Local Area network.

If you want to connect these NB's Wirelessly you will require a WiFi Access Point.

You then run the Network or Wireless Setup Wizard after you have first installed the required hardware.

But just a note here Wired LAN's can commentate at between 100 to 1,000 KBS where as Wireless or WiFi Networks can not communicate faster than 54 KBS Kilobytes per Second. So the newest Wireless is slower than the old Wired.

More Information Needed

What is the operating system on all three notebook?

Do you need to share some resources among computers?

How much will be the distance between laptops? For example: they are in same room or seperate?

Do laptops have got LAN card (inbuilt or PCMCIA) or Wireless Card (inbuilt or USB or PCMCIA)?

Do they need to share internet?

How much you want to spend?

Cheers !
