network - data transfer

By goconnor7 ·
I want to transfer data from a Windows 2000 server (mirrored RAID setup) to a Windows Small Business server (mirrored RAID setup). What are my options for data transfer. I would prefer to do a server to server connection to avoid having one server join the domain of the other. Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions.

All you need do is transfer the data across unless they are on different Domains then you'll need to establish Trust between the 2 servers and transfer the data across as required.

Provided that the are both connected however remotely this shouldn't be such a hard thing to do as all you need do is to cross different branches of the Forrest to get the connection.

You could also try ERD Commander from Winternals which allows you to boot from the CD on the network and get a cut-down version of a GUI that will let you transfer files (after mapping drive from one server to another)through a windows explorer interface. Good luck
