Network Interface Card not working

by petersfamilyohio . Updated 17 years, 11 months ago

Our house had a lightening strike and it blew out our wireless router. I got a new one, but am unable to connect to the internet from our desktop. I was able to get internet connection from 2 laptops by unplugging the ethernet cable from our desktop and plugging it into the laptop. That leads me to believe there is something wrong with the Network Interface card/Ethernet card in our desktop. I was also able to get the wirless working on the laptops by setting it up through our desktop, which doesn’t make much sense but it works. Is there any setting I can change or run something through setup in order to “reset” the NIC?
