Network Layout

By rastalin_marjere ·
Here are my assets: I have a Cisco router (2800) 4 netgear 48 port L3 switches (main) a PBX, managed and unmanaged L2 24 port switches(for devices).

Here is what I want to do: Break the network into 2, having a Voice network and a Data network. With the gig ports on my 4 netgear L3 switches I want to create a backplane using STP (is this possable), I want to use managed L2 switches for my data network with 802.1x/EAP or VMPS for auth. I want to create 2 different VLAN's on the Voice network ~ One to connect to my PBX and the other for all Voice packets. Reason behind this is to firewall the Voice network so that only Voice traffic can be on it. I plan on using unmanaged L2 switches for my VoIP phones. So if someone connects a random phone SIP phone in it must auth at the PBX before calls can be made etc.

Any ideal's or suggestions? And can the backplane be done? Is there anything I am over looking?
