network path not found

By info ·
Hi, I have just come into the office and I think I may have had a power failure over the weekend.

When I turned on my pc it couldn't connect to the network, nor could 2 of the other four pc (clients) but one can!!!
Any suggestions of where i might look to find why? or test to find out why...and then how to fix.

Not knowing huge amount in server management - Manage Client Computers...right clicked on my Client computer, clicking Manage computer and a message stating "network path was not found"

Start pinging

First thing to check is network connectivity. It is fairly common after an electrical event for a NIC to burn up.

Do a ping to local systems on the same segment. Ping your server/dns/gateway/ and then a few places on the internet like google or yahoo.

Do an "ipconfig /all" to make sure they are getting all of the correct information from your DNS server. IP/DNS/Gateway. All are needed, or your not going anywhere.

Check your switch. Are the ports lit up? Switch the port between the working system and one that isn't working. That will eliminate that as a possibility.
