Next Certifcation?

By pasinatoj ·
I recently received my Security+ and A+ certifications when I was on Desktop Support. They have since moved me to Server Administrator. I'm trying to decide which certification I should try to get next. At first it was either MCSA or CCNA. I chose MCSA since i'm familiar with it and it should be easier. So I bought the book and started studying. I planned on taking my first test November 5th. Then a co-worker of mine stated that the MCSA was going away soon. Has anyone heard about this? Should I continue going for my MCSA or start studying for my MCTS?

Edit. We currently are running Server 2003 but supposedly we are moving to Server 2008. But knowing how things move around here it probably won't happen for a while. Maybe a year or year and a half at least.

I believe you can take the MCSA and then take the upgrade exam

Do you think you can pass all tests for MCSA before they go away? If so, I would go that route. Then once you have your MCSA, you can just do the upgrade test.

That's what I was thinking but I haven't found anything on when Microsoft plans to retire the tests.
