NLSLSP.NLM error

By rray ·
I am getting this message every couple of minutes, "NLSLSP.NLM: Unable to write license info to NDS. Please check "" partition synchronization status." How do you fix NDS synchronization or check it? Note: I'm not 100% positive but this mayhave started after I ran DSREPAIR.

Unfortunately, this is NOT good news. The reason for the licensing information not being updated is because the NDS partition that contains the licensing objects is not synchronizing properly. Novell has provided a couple of TIDs for this problem but because it's the partition the resolution will more than likely require a call to Novell's tech support.

Please reference TID 10022584 and TID 10013596.

try running setupnls.nlm ( it's either that or nlssetup.nlm). I think I ran into this before and after running that and updating nls the error went away

Not being able to go over this live, I would sugest a call to Novell tech support. For future or if you have close access to a good book store, Troubleshooting NDS (Novell Press) has the info you need.

1)You should check first with dstrace:
- set dstrace=On
- set dstrace=+sync
- set dstrace=*H
and switch to the dstrace window and look after errors (in red)
2) You should chek these elementary things with dsrepair:
- dsrepair, time synchronisation (the result should not show more than 4 or 5 seconds under "Time+/-"
- dsrepair, Report Synchronization status
(the "all servers synchronized up to time" shold not be more than 1 hour ago and no -error should be encountered)
3) You could try to delete the nls_lsp_servername
and rerun setupnls
