I have an IBM refurb’d P3, 500MgHz with 128 meg PC100 SDram. When I got it there were two 64mg sticks of RAM. I got a 128 stick of RAM and added it to the 3rd slot on the MB.
When I booted the config screen came on and showed ‘no operating system’. I removed the 128 stick and it booted normal.
I took out the two 64meg sticks and put in the 128 and it booted fine.
I got another 128meg stick and put it in and got the error again.
Is there a setting I must change to enable the higher amount of RAM?
I’m running Win98se.
