noisy disk drive (1.44)

My disk drive always make a sound whenever i'm starting my pc, I think it always tends to read even if i'm not using it. Do you know why ?

It may be as simple as your boot up process, remove the 1.44 from the boot up devices in bios. You can always turn it back on when you need it.

Do you have any Anti-Virus programs running?

Most, if not all AV programs, will look for a floppy to scan whether or not one exists in the floppy drive. This is because AV programs want to make sure that you are not going to boot from a virus-infected floppy (and therefore infect your computer).

Consider backing-up all your files, noisy Hard Disk Drive is one of the symptoms of HDD breakdown.
