    Norton Anti-virus

    Locked

    by m307 ·

I have a small business server network. I use symantec antivirus corp. editon 10.0. I’ve been using it for 5 years. I recently installed mail security for exchange.

I would like to replace this anti-virus. It’s causing the system o run really slow. Any recomendations out there for Antivirus programs for windows 2000 / sbs Servers?

How much memory is in the SBS system?

Is Exchange also running in addition to Active Directory?

Perhaps the issues isn’t the software, but the memory.

I recently upgraded the server to 1 Gig of memory. And it still runs slow.

He is correct. It might be beneficial to run a seperate server for exchange.

Many people though, myself included, have been very happy with AVG. I have not run the corporate addition of AVG, but if it is as good as the other edition I think it will run well for you.

I have a SBS 2003 and 25 XP Pro w/stations and had to upgrade server to 2gig RAM just to cope with exchange and antivirus as we found 1gig RAM was not enough and now everything seems ok.

Sir ..in my opinion I think the Antivirus from Symantec is really not so useful in your case.
      Use any oone of them!
      >BitDefender
      >Kaspersky
      >F-Secure Anti-Virus
Also,if posiible, try to upgrade ur Memory!

      http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Anti-Virus_Utilities/avast__Antivirus.html

at the moment i have avg pro.
i have nothing adverse about norton. but one has to try other prgs. as well to see which works well

without offence, pl.spend sometime using google search, you will get so much educated.
