to check that all the network hardware is correctly installed on faulty machine, all drivers required for NIC are installed and working correctly. Check that all cables are plugged into network Card and wall socket.

Once you have verified all hardware, if the problem persists, you would then check all software settings until you find the fault.

Pinging and Unhide Remote tab

1. You can't ping the computer maybe because you enable Windows Firewall. Disable it from Control Panel.

2. Register remote destop dll again. Maybe it's corrupted. Click 'RUN' and then type :
'regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\remotepg.dll'
Whether you are not succeed in doing above, with error stating 'module cannot found'. Find your Windows XP CD and extract the dll from it, by typing:
'EXPAND X:\I386\REMOTEPG.DL_ -R C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32'
(x: is your CD/DVD drive)
and then try the register dll process again.

Hope this will help. :)
