notebook bios restoring

by gorazd.paljaruci . Updated 22 years, 11 months ago

I have new notebook:Gericom X5 Force MSW, 14,1” TFT, P4 2000, 384 MB, 40 GB, Nvidia graphics.
I wished to update the BIOS of the notebook. From Gericom ftp site I have downloaded the BIOS.zip file (761 kb, date 19.12.2002).I have created the bootable CD(that works like a DOS diskette since X5 has no diskette drive)and extracted the
contents of BIOS.zip file to CD.I have then checked the CD on a desktop computer and was fine – all necessary files were there. Then I have inserted this CD in a notebook and selected the first device to boot from to be a CD.All went fine.I have flashed the BIOS of a motherboard and BIOS of graphics card (since there must be done two flashes:first for MB then for graphics). All went fine. Then I rebooted. Then DISASTER happened.Notebook started, but there is NOTHING on the display! Please assist – thanks.
