Novell Client Trust vs MS Firewall

By ef ·
How do I config Microsoft FireWall (MFW)to accept a generel login (Novell Client Trust -NCT) for connecting to a proxy.
When MFW is enabled it don't allow the NCT to communicate with the proxy, and the proxy then demand a reentering of user and password.
When MFW is disabled there is no problems.

Client Trust IS in the Exceptions List !!!!!

Doesn't work that way

We're using Novells Border Manager and client trust. The only way to use it with Windows XP is to disable the Windows firewall. We use a Cisco PIX for the firewall for the entire network, don't need the windows one with that.

How to Configure Novell Client Trust wirth MS XP/SP2 Firewall.

The earlier reply is entirely incorrect.
Novell Client Trust (CLNTRUST.EXE, in the PUBLIC directory on the SYS volume) uses UDP port 3024 to function. Make a firewall exception on the workstation for UDP Port 3024, and call it "Novell Client Trust".
Then you can leave the MS firewall on.
