Operating Systems within a LAN

By nsingh ·
Hi, we have a LAN and I want to find out what operating systems I have running on each machine under our LAN. How do I do that without having to go and look at each machine physically?

Go to www.snapfiles.com click on the freeware tab then click on network scanning under the networking section. Scroll down until you see NEWT this util will do what you want. If your WS are XP SP2 with FW enabled you may have to tweek exceptions but systems that are running default SP2 fw settings with exceptions enabled should be ok
