    Oracle Server

    Hi,
    I want to set a Oracle 8i server on my office,
    can anyone give me a pc sepcification( like intel system or other) for setup a Oracle Server.

      Hi Ajis,

      The minimum spec I can recommend will be a pentium III with at least 512MB of memory. Anything less than this will be slow and might not install properly.

        if you plan to user windows OS, use windows 2000. Do not use XP.

          PIII with 512, installed with Windows 2000 with be a good start – minimum for less no. of users (but I would recommend Win2003). if you are planning to install it in P4, you should have the P4 patch before installing 8i. Install the Universal installer from patch cd first, and then proceed to 8i cd.
