Orbitexlorer

By pattijean526 ·
I turned on my computer one day and found my home page changed to orbitexplorer. Where did it come from, how do I get rid of it. I is an EXTREMELY poor search engine, if that is what it is. It is supposed to be by Microsoft, but I cannot find outanything about it. Can anyone help me with this problem?

In Internet Explorer --> click on Tools --> Options --> and on the general tab, there's a place for the http:// address that you want to make your home page. Just change it back to whatever you had.

Some web sites and applications install software that changes your home page to their site.

If after changing your home page back, it changes again to orbit, try any of the following.

AdAware from www.lavasoft.de

Start page guard
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/spg/

Spybot
http://security.kolla.de/

These can help keep ad-ware off of your system, and prevent web sites from changing your home page.

So, did you have any luck with the utilities?

Or is orbit explorer still holding on to your system?

I want to thank Chas, I downloaded Spybot, and I do a daily cleaning with it. Thanks for the info.
