Yes and no. I know this answer will be rejected because you have not given enough information about your problem. Therefore, here are a few questions for you to answer for me in order for me to help you! And in doing so you may be albe to find the answer on your own. So, here goes....

1. What order-entry application are your using?
2. Do you have an IT staff member or someone who you know at your organization that administers this application? This person could answer this question for you.
3. Order-entry applications require a database (db)and if you know what type of db this app uses then you may be able to modify the fields. Do you know what db this app utilizes? SQL, MDAC, etc...

I hope this brief overview helps!

To continue on with the first answer...

From a web perspective, most web-based order entry forms are easily modified in its source code to include the additional field information you describe. The problem lies on the back end application that parses or reads the form that is submitted by the user. The application that receives the form information must know to look for the new fields. Otherwise the data would most likely be overlooked.

And of course, as the earlier answer points out,the data is destined for a database somewhere, so you need to know the proper format for the added infomation (numbers or text, for instance). And you must know how the application that recieves the form information maps data to the database, so that the new field you have described can be passed on to the database in the proper fashion.
