Outlook 2007 Exchange Server Not Found

By mark1242 ·
I reciently set up and exchange server on DC to run calendar and contact sharing on a small office network. every thing seemed to be working fine until people started having connection problems with outlook.

when you open outlook it stalls for about 30 seconds then it comes up with an error message "Connection to Exchange Server; Exchange server not found" it has 3 options "retry, work offline, or cancel"

much as i try i cant figure it out

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Double check your connections..

For Exchange Server 2003 and earlier versions of Exchange, the server can be found automatically only if the client machine is joined to a domain and the Exchange server topology is installed within the same Active Directory organization as the user object.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.

Still stumped..

by mark1242 In reply to Double check your connect ...

after you hit retry it will allow the connection...i have the exchange server hosting the Domain and every one is on it.
the user directory doesn't appear to have any problems. the only thing is it takes a really long time to connect with outlook...I'm stumped.
