Outlook 2007 Issue: Leave Copy of Messages on Server box won't uncheck

By andrea ·
Product: Microsoft Outlook 2007 (12.0.6300.5000)

Issue: Every morning, client has to go into email settings and uncheck box to "leave copy of messages on server".

If he closes Outlook at any point during the day, at night, etc...this box is rechecked again.

If he unchecks the box and leaves Outlook open overnight, when he comes into the office in the AM, Outlook is unresponsive and he has to shut it down via Task Manager...then go in and uncheck the box again.

Email used to push to Blackberry device but no longer works.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Did you try a repair installation ?
Did you try to delete/recreate the mailbox locally ?
Otherwise have a look in the registry ; this optin might be there but cannot be written due to Admin limitations.
Hope it helps,

If you accessed the email settings via tools, email accounts, change, more settings, then the advanced tab, if you uncheck "leave a copy of messages on server" then ckick "ok", you then need to click "next", then "finish" before the changes will remain.
