Outlook Express – Can’t Send/Receive e-mail

by mccallumbs . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

A client receives the following error when using Outlook Express: “Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: ‘Suddenlink Mail – “userid”@suddenlink.net’, Server: ‘pop.suddenlink.net’, Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F.”
We’ve checked the POP3 and SMTP addresses and they are correct. This system is connected via wireless connection to another system in this client’s home and Outlook Express works just fine.

Evidently, everything worked fine until a couple of weeks ago when he started receiving this error. We’ve backed off some automatic updates and nothing changed.

He turns his system off every evening. Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you.
