Outlook Express Identity Password

By ecampos ·
I created an identity in OE 5 using a password which does not work now. Is there a way to retrieve that password so I can have access to my messages?

In the run box type REGEDIT open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES/SOFTWARE,locate outlook express 5 in the subtree and click and the pass word should be there.
If it was provided by your ISP,contact them and request or cahnge the password.

Well, the best thing you can do includes 2 things:
1 - Contact your e-mail account provider to give you your password or to change your password (and to give you the new one)
2 - Write your new or old password somewhere (on PAPER) and keep it on secure place, where you won't lose it

That's all folks!

You may be able to read it out of your password file. There are any number of cracks for Windows password files available. Fire up your favorite search tool and search for "pwl crack". Or try http://www.webdon.com/vitas/pwltool.htm or www.l0pht.com (that's letter L number zero, not ten or letter L letter O).

Okay this isn't really the answer your looking for but, my suggestion to you is to stop using OE. If you are on a network expecially. It is the most targeted email app. for viruses. I'm not a MS hater, either just deal with a large number of virusproblems.
