Overlapping folders and files

By rlaswell ·
What causes the folders and files in my computer to overlap each other when I have the view set to large icons. I can get them to uncluster when I set it to small icons, but this not a solution only a bandade. Is this virus activity or what? I have formatted and reloaded the system until I am blue in the face with it only to return. I am running WIN98SE,128megs of ram,Pentiumll 233.Would take any suggestions.Thank you. Roy

Overlapping folders and files

What you likely have happening, is a clash between your display settings and Icon placement settings.

To check this out, right click on a blank area of the desktop and select properties.

Under appearance, make Icon spacing larger.

Unfortunately, this will affect both your desktop and Windows Explorer.

Thank you for answering my question. It appears to have resolved the situation. Though I am not certain what causes it to occur.
Thanks again
