OWA2003: Force language in folders to be English only

By stergios_nik ·
Hello All.

I have an Exchange 2003 server. The users are using Outlook Web Access 2003.

The problem I have is that some users when they use the OWA2003 they noticed that the names of the folders (i.e. Inbox, Sent Items ,Deleted Items) are not in English language but in other Languages.

How can I force Exchange 2003 in order to apply English language for all folders, into all OWA2003 mailboxes.

For a example a user from his home PC told me that the folder names are in Greek but his is not Greek and his PC is not configured for Greek language.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Stergios

How Exchange determines the folders language for OWA and Outlook 2003

by gsimos In reply to OWA2003: Force language i ...

Hello,

When a mailbox is created in Exchange 2003 it does not have a folder structure in it, when the client logs in the mailbox via OWA or Outlook 2003 then the folder structure is created by taking in account the following factors:

1) The language of the Outlook Client.
2) The language of Internet Explorer if OWA is used to initially open the mailbox.

A way to reset the folder names is to run the following conmmand "outlook /resetfoldernames", after changing the language to english in the windows client.
