Partition available space issue

By rogimenez ·
Hi, I'm having the following problem in a server running windows sbs 2003.

When I enter my PC, windows does not show the available space for partition c:. This is serious because it's not only a display problem, it won't inform other software (such us AV) the available space, which cause a failure it the update proceses among others.

Besides, the mmc open but you can't load any console inside it (device manager, gp, system administration, etc).

I run spybot, avg antiroot kit, hijackthis, but nothing, I was not able to identify the problem.

Thanks you very much for your help.

Other ways

Can you open Disk management? It sounds like you have maxed out the system Partition since there isn't enought free space for any new programs to launch.

Can you uninstall anything to free up space so that you can give yourself the ability to do more troubleshooting.

You may have to buy a partitioning program to resize it if .

It's not lack of free space

by rogimenez In reply to Other ways

No, is not lack of space, the partition has a lot of free space (25 GB).

There is more, if I restart the server, the data about c: partition and the consoles in mmc works, but a couple minutes later, it stop showing.

Thanks.

I'm not getting it

There is plenty of free space on the system Part? (Not available unallocated space) You cannot open any existing applications because it says "Out of space' error?

Any idea of any changes occuring prior to this strange behaviour? You did say that several Spyware/Adaware programs found no problem. See any strange services running in Task Manager? Windows updates current?

With something that bizarre, I could only recommend a SFC /Scannow to see if any files are damamged. It may even require a Windows Repair.
