I HAVE A 16 GIG HARD DRIVE.USED PARTITION MAGIC TO RESIZE PARTITION TO DUAL BOOT W/
WINNT.CURRENTLY HAVE WIN98 INSTALLED.MADE AN ERROR IN THAT I CREATED A 2GIG PARTITION AT THE END OF DRIVE.NEW O/S CANNOT SEE PAST THE
1024 CYL. BARRIER.INSTALLATION WAS UNSUCCESS
FUL UNDERSTANDABLY.NOW MY HARD DRIVE CANNOT
SEE THE 2 GIG.WITH FDISK DELETING PARTITION
WONT RETRIEVE THE SPACE.PARTITION MAGIC DISPLAYS ” PARTITION TABLE ERROR #108″ & WONT LET ME CONTINUE.ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW I CAN RECOVER WITHOUT REFORMATTING & REINSTALLING THE O/S.–THANX–

I had a similar Problem With win98/win2k
I had to use a HDD Utility from maxtor to fix the drive,. I had to backup my win98 then Run the Program to solve the problem,.
(Re-Formatted the drive) I Believe it had to do with the MBR getting messed up,. Ither way Be VERRY Careful unless yer Info on that drive is backed up,..

When you attempted to install WINNT it prolly wrote NTFS onto the 2 gig. Run your WINNT setup disk and delete the NTFS partition, then cancel out, you will have to run FDISK once again to get the partition back. But FDISK will not see it as long as it has that NTFS file format written to it.

Thanx for response.i tried the idea,but still
am unable to recover.will try fdisk /mbr or will attempt the previous idea of a hdd utility–thanks for input
