I got this from the Gateway website concerning CMOS passwords:

1. Turn off the computer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the computer.
3. Remove the case.
4. Locate the jumper J7B1 on the motherboard. Once the jumper has been located, move the jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3.
5. Plug the power cord back into the computer and turn on the computer.
6. After the POST runs, Setup runs automatically. The maintenance menu is displayed.
7. From the Maintenance menu, select Clear All Passwords. Press the F10 key. Turn off the computer, unplug the power cord, and then place the jumper back to pins 1-2 on the J7B1 jumper block.
8. Plug the computer back in and then turn on the computer. All CMOS passwords should now be cleared.

I hope this helps

Hi and answer one has it correct and I add that if you can not find the jumper just do this instead. unplug the pc and remove the case----
CAUTION when reaching in to REMOVE the small cmos battery KEEP ONE HAND ON THE CASE is a metal part of the case TO GROUND YOURSELF AND EQUALIZE the static charge. Leave the battery out for 24 hours and then reinstall the battery. Put the case back on and plug it all back in and go GO.
Also when I short the cmos jumper I only do so for about 5 secondsas that is enough.
Change the pins while unpluged, plug in for 5 secs and place the jumper back to 2-3.
Have fun and enjoy !!!

Just reset your CMOS, Remove battery, move jumper from 2,3 - 1,2 then back. Put in battery and you should be good to go.
