Password problem

I have a password issue. When I turn on the computer it prompts me for a password I don't know the password and i am unable to by-pass this. Does anyone know of a way i can get rid of this so i can get into this computer? Possibly go through the Registry?? If so what are the steps?????? Need someones help ASAP! thanx =)

It sounds like you are talking about a BIOS password (are you being prompted for the password before the computer even boots?).

To delete this password, you must zero out the CMOS memory. To do this you must open the case and either remove the CMOS battery for 5-10 seconds or move a jumper to the memory clear position (which step you take is determined by the particular motherboard). Once the CMOS memory has been cleared, you will need to reset all your BIOS settings, but the boot passwordwill be cleared.

One of two things can be done. You can research the manufactor of the system board an find out which jummper to reset or you can remove your cmos batter for a couple of minutes and this will reset your bios.
