Password Protect Shares

Okay, no response on NetAdmin. Guess I’ll try it here.

I’m running a small workgroup network. All machines are Windows XP. I would like to password protect my shares on the network. At the moment when I attempt to access a share on the network, the computer automatically connects. I don’t have to enter a password. I believe the first time I connected I did have to provide a password. How do I configure so that I have to enter a password every time I attempt to access a share?

The way it works is by user rights to a share however, I found a possible workaround for you here.
