pictures won't load

By PatriotPen ·
I have a win Xp sp2 home addition PC. When I was directed to a site that is a national testing site for high speed Internet the site page comes up well but the portion of that page I need to input info and start test shows a frame and a red "x" at upper left corned. I have tried all I now to correct this but to no avail. I could use some help on this.

Since this is XP-SP2, do you have the Firewall turned on ? Is the FW blocking the pictures etc ? Try turning XP's FW off...

make sure that you don't have any script blocking software turned on (ie, part of your firewall or virus protection). Also, make sure that you are allowing scripts to be executed in your browser. I have seen this when certain security measures were in place on a domain, and managed to get around it by loading up netscape (without having Admin rights) and then viewing the site.

Despite the fact that the picts could be blocked because of your firewall or virus protection - dont use the Internet Explorer, switch to Firefox for a more secure surfing.
And keep in mind, if you change your firewall- or virusprotection-configuration you not only open a door for loading pictures!!
