I am in the process of migrating/creating a new domain, from a workgroup. First I am creating a lab environment, I have installed AD and DNS (or so I think). I have my test client sharing a router with the new DC, I was able to join the client to the domain. The problem is when I ping the client it takes awhile to return a ping. I am also connected to the workgroup but cannot ping other PC’s in the workgroup, although when I try and ping a PC in the workgoup by name it resolves the IP but returns a time out of the ping. What am I missing?
