Plextor 12/10/32 record problem

I jsut got a plextor 8/4/32 about a week ago.
I didn't have a problem with the disks that came with it along iwth the 100 pack or Imation disks I got.
Are you putting data or music on the cd's?
Are you formating them or jsut recording right off the bat?

I also bought one of these drives last week and have no problems writing to any disks. Perhaps your software is corrupt or your drive has some kind of problem.

Plextor 12/10/32 record problem

by Zeus who Frags In reply to Plextor 12/10/32 record p ...

I used to buy Elite CDR. One day I bought a pack of 10 Elite CDR : I had writing problem on ALL of them. There exists damaged packs of CDR, even in good quality CDR. It's rare but it exists. Try using another CDR from another pack of CDR.
Another solution is that you have a 12x writer. Be SURE that your CDR are compatible with the speed you record them. Few CDR today can write at 12x. Look on the box of your CDR the certification of the speed. Today, I have seen many CDR able to write at 8x. But beyond, it's rare. It can be the more probable solution.
If the problem still exists, maybe your drive has been damaged (of course, it's an easy solution, but it is possible!).

Hope it helped.
