This should be a good question to look into. Lets say I open up a few topics and all have like 150-400 points. And everyone replys with there help on it.

But I never closed the question and did not give the points to either one or too persons that helped me.

There should be a e-mail reminder send to that user saying( remember you ask a question but you never closed your topic and never rewarded the points to the person(s) that gave the best help he can give) Please click here to close and reward the points to the helpers)

Or the topic be auto closed in 60 days and the points be shares to all people that reply. 150 and theres 10 people reply so they get like 15 points each.

Tech Republic has apparently been wrestling with this subject for a while but with no apparent resolution.

BTW, if you are expecting anyone from TechRepublic to read your comments, it will only happen here by accident. This forum is essentially un-monitored. Click on the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page for links to post comments/suggestions. Someone will eventually get back to you (don't expect a quick answer).

You can check your open questions by clicking on My Questions when you are in the Technical Q&A section.

You will get a list of your questions, and the status.

I don't know all the details, but the database that the Q&A site uses costs TR a lot.
I suspect that they cannot justify the expense of an automated e-mail notification system.

TechRepublic has in the past addressed this before updating, the process of auto closing questions that stayed open over 30-60 days was automatically closed, the process then became a problem because members would post to questions that had been opened and provide an answer so that they could share the distributed points, so it may be that they decided to do away with it for that reason, then to you can email techrepublic for an better explanation ofr make a suggestion how this could be setup.

I agree I never really seen any topic and a tech owner or monitoring has post a reply.

This is a great site no questions ask it was a good job who ever open it. All the tech's join and members like us. Few little more changes would be cool.

I did not know at all in my 3 plus member years that this is a un-monitored site. But then I'm really not a big time active user around here either.

Yes I know how to close and give the points to who ever helped me the best but I was just thinking like a newbie you know forget about the question, make new accounts, forgot password make new account. I'm trying to be like in a newbie spot.

Lol I made a few newbie mistakes in my first pc years way bak when. There still is I know that for a fact, example I know a few buddys and had icq and they either forgot there icq password and never done the retrive password by e-mail and few simple questions. What do u know they made a new account and left the old account open still. What a waste. Or just uninstall icq from pc and few months later downloaded it again and got new account, they thinking once it's remove from pc the main account is closed lol. Not to get anyone upset but I was just trying to recreat how a newbie mind works. And don'tmean everyone was that bad off hope you all know what I mean.
