POP3 for Exchange 2000 vs. OWA

By mr.macadam ·
Seems not many folks enable it, but what do I know? Should I open it up for those remote users who are tired of OWA?

My gut says nope. The reason is that when you enable POP3 the users have the ability to download the email from the server to whatever machine they are on. This is a security risk. IMHO you do not want company communications on a system that is not company controlled. OWA maintains the emails on the server. You cannot download the email.
