PowerQuest Drive Image Pro

By heathermain ·
Hi,

I am trying to find information on how to use a CD instead of a bootable floppy to access to images on the server. Is this possible. I know that you can load the actual image from CD but our images are too big for CD. Thanks in advance.

Bootable network floppy and bootable network CD are the basically the same as you need the files from the boot floppy to make the bootable CD. With the prevelance of USB bootable PCs/Laptops you can create a network bootable USB key (with floppy boot files) using HPs USB boot maker and Universal Boot Disk maker. There are a lot of options when it comes to ghosting an image back onto the PC so you would need to investigate and settle on you favourite. One of mine is to create a restricted partition on the PC and put the image on that and use the IMAGE -> Partition options in Ghost. This way the image is always available (Unless HDD fails). I have successfully used my 1Gb USB key to boot onto the network and image many PCs and Laptops and I am now looking into getting a very large USB key and putting the images on that also.
