press 'g' key and window pops up - why?

By sdsmoot ·
I cant understand why everytime I press the "g" key on my keyboard (doesnt matter what program i am working in) a window that looks like "My Computer" screen pops up. The screen looks similiar to the Windows Explorer screen where you can see all the drives and such. The keyboard is not wireless and it has no short cut keys (very basic). What kind of macro or such is presenting me with this nusiance application. All help would be appreciated. Using Windows XP.
Thanks.

Normally, this should get resolved when you restart the computer. If that fails, try to reinstall the Keyboard drivers for once. This would solve the problem.

To reinstall, Right-click My Computer, Select Properties and click the Device Manager tab in Windows 95/98/Me [click the hardware tand click Device Manager button in Windows 2k & XP], click the + next to keyboard and Remove/uninstall entries under that and restart the computer. This would automatically reinstall the drivers and help you resolve the problem.

you could have a hot key program running, or a faulty keyboard. Does the problem happen with an alternate keyboard plugged in?
