Print Sharing in WIN95 and W2K

By RonGB ·
Trying to share an HP 720C. ALl seems to be set up correct. Getting error that says "print error to \\xxxxx\PCxxx.... My question is: what am I missing? Does the share name have to be the same as the printer name? or vice-versa? This happens inWIN95 to WIN95 and W2K to WIN95. The local HP720C is on a WIN95 machine. Thanks in advance for any help. Print Sharing in WIN95 and W2K

by R. A. Caluste In reply to Print Sharing in WIN95 an ...

The share name doesn't have to be the same with the printer name. If you are working in a workgroup, the username and password in your win2k machine must be present and have printing privileges in your w95 machine. the username and password on both machine must be the same.
