Printer problem

By hefty10 ·
My sister in law has an Epson Stylus 660 colour printer which used to work fine on her laptop running Win2000.The problem is that the printer had it's ink cartridges replaced and now all three lights on the front of the printer for paper jam, replacing the cartridge, etc are on and the printer will not work.Pressing the the buttons does nothing as the cartridges do not move.I managed to move them enough to remove the cartridges and try other ones, but I get the same result.Initially when the cartridges were replaced, only a few options were greyed out in the printer properties, but it keeps getting worse to the stage that it's at now.Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it please?
Thanks
Steve

Printer problem

Not sure if "other ones'' are the replaced cart.
or other new cartridges, so: Do you still have
the cartridges that were replaced? If you do,
put them back and see what happens. If they
work, best guess it the new cartridges are not
the correct ones. Double check if they are
compatible with that computer and get the
correct ones if needed. Have you turned both
the computer and printer completely off? If not,
do so. Try cleaning the printer with canned air.
Check the paperwork that came with the
printer. It should have a section on cleaning
and a troubleshooting section. Delete the
printer preferences, the computer will make a
fresh new set. You won't lose anything except
a bad or corrupted file. Check to see if you
have the most up-to-date driver. You may have
damaged the current one, and, while it is
correct, you need to replace it. Go to the Epson
website, it will direct you as to how to do
this.Post a comment if this doesn't
work--more info might suggest other
solutions.

i do pc-recycling all day. i know a lot of printers and i have given up "repairing" epsons.
new removed cartridges cannot be used anymore because of the stupid(in real its genious for the life of the printer)sucking mechanism. if you print 30 timesit could be possible to revive.
buy a b+w-laser-printer, but double-check the possible expensive cost of the toner-cartdrige.anyhow the final costs for ink is much cheaper. only buy an inkjet-printer if you need color-photoprints.
