Printers and Profiles

By lwillard ·
I have a Windows 2003 Server running Active Directory and using Roaming Profiles. I recently retired 3 printers from service and removed them from printers and faxes on the server. However, I have a problem with old printers still showing up in user's printers and faxes control panel when I create new users or delete profiles and force new. To try and fix the problem I am using a .vbs script on logoff that will delete all printers per user. Then I have a .vbs logon script that will map network drives and set up the printers that are currently shared on my network. I also verified that there were no local profiles stored on the workstation and that the printers had been uninstalled from the local machine. I need to find out where these "ghost" printers are coming from. Some active directory setting?
