Printers can't print to local ports

By FixITright_theFirstTime ·
I have a mixture of Win XP Pro, NT 4.0 workstations SP6a and Win98 workstations connected to a 2003 server. Recently I changed the default login to have lpt use a network printer. This is when I noticed that printing to local LPT1 ports stopped working. I removed the change to the login script, rebooted the server, but still have the problem. How do I fix this?

you probably had persistent switch on your net use command? so now you have to net use with the delete switch to 'unuse' the lpt port? try it at a command line on one workstation for a test. at a command prompt, type net use /? to see the delete switch
