Problem Deleting File!

By IT Rookie ·
I have an incomplete downloaded "AVI" file that I can't delete. The error said it been used by another person or program. I am pretty shore that none of my programs are'nt using it. How may I get around this and is there a way took sheck to see if any what program(s) are using it?
Also I have this "Altnet" folder which is a part of my Kazaa program. I am trying unsucessfully to delete it any ideas?

I have an Admin account, I did however remove the read-only attrib from altnet, but it went right back everytime. The AVI file I can't modify in anyway; If I try explorer encounters an error and closes everytime.

I have had a similar problem with Kazaa locking files. In my experience, it was because someone was downloading the file. Close Kazaa and try it again. If this doesn't work, reboot and try again.

Boot into safe mode, and delete away, or, in normal boot up, check your task manager, and stop any kazaa, altnet processes. Also, try moving the file to your desktop, away from the location it's supposedly being used.

As Antknee26 said; Kazaa's media list of downloaded files 'locks' your AVI file as being in use. Shut it all down and then it sohuld be clear to delete.
