I have an almost new Qosmio laptop with all the bells and whistles. I connect to the internet via a wireless router / modem supplied by my ISP. It is located one flight down from my computer.
My son uses the same set-up for his X-Box live – which he only plays at night. I can never connect to the internet in the morning without having to go down and reset the hardware (unplug the router / modem) and then turn-off and restart (not reboot: rebooting doesn’t seem to work) my computer – even tho the computer always ‘says’ it is connected to the network and that the signal strength is “Excellent” from the moment I first turn it on.
I realize this isn’t a real big deal – but I’m curious because my daughter also connnects her Dell laptop in the same manner and this never happens to her. Does this have anything to do with the way my son might be shutting down his X-box? – or do I just have a finicky expensive computer?
