When my modem connects to the internet it does all of the right things, checks my user name a password etc.. Then it tells me that it is logging the computer on to the network at which point it crashes and the system has to be rebooted. The point is there is no network. It is a stand alone machine in my home. I have stuck four modems in the machine with the same results, so it is not the modem but the way Win 2K is handling the connection. How can I stop it from looking for a network? Any help would be appreciated.
