Problem with the starting of the PC

By pratap_azad ·
when I start my Pentium III computer by switching the power button, it gave a POST beep and then it didn't get started. Then I have to start it by pressing the RESET button. Then only it works fine. This I have to do everytime I need to start my computer. What's the problem with my computer?

without more details it it very hard to say, but it sounds like the most likely problem is the battery on the mother board is going out and the CMOS checksum is not matching, so when you power on it beeps, and then boots okay on a reset becase there is now power to the CMOS.
Check your battery and make sure it it not dead.

Try changing your power supply, sounds like it isn't stiff enough to init the motherboard.
