Hi members,
I bought a laptop 3 months ago,Lenovo Y410 series, which has 160 GB HDD and 1GB ram. On my laptop i have two operating systems –
Windows 2003 server SP1 (Enterprise edition – 32 bit)and Windows Vista basic
Some weeks back when i was going through my email, on Vista OS, i received windows update and which i have selected to update the windows. Upon the installing the updates the laptop was hanged up and had to shut it down forcefully by pressing the power button for 10secs. When I started to switch on the laptop the next day I started facing the problems –
1. When I selected my Vista OS out of the two OS the laptop screen is showing message “Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: insert windows installation disc and restart and select repair your computer.
Other options: If power interrupted during startup, choose start windows normally.
Safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known good configuration
start windows normally”
Upon selecting start windows normally or any of the above options, the screen showing loading and then the screen goes black and then it gives me the initial options select the OS.
2. When I am using Windows server 2003 OS i am unable to view web pages, even though I am connected to my wireless network. My wireless shows signal strength as excellent and connected to net.
Can anyone here help me to solve these problems. Moreover I even tried to reboot the Vista OS with the recovery CD given by lenovo.
