problems with streaming media

By yayo4ya ·
I am working on an old intel pentium classic. Recently the pc will crash whenever the user tries to access a site using streaming media. For example if using realplayer, the user can get audio but if they trie to use realplayer to view a movie the system crashes. This problem also happens with Windows Streaming media?

You may not have enough horsepower. The latest version of Realplayer, 8.0, recommends a 200 MHz processor, 32 mb RAM, and a video card capable of 65,000 colors.

If you've got that, try updating the video driver.

Hi,

I agree with answer 1. The classic does not have enough processing capacity to handle streaming video.

There are two things that can be done to improve processing capacity. Install more memory, and upgrade the CPU. There are some Third Party CPU companies that will triple the processor speed for around a $100.00

If you some help in getting them, please e-mail me back.

Good luck!
