Public and Private Zones in HP switches

    Locked

    by hlsj_99 ·

I would like to set up 4 hp 2600 series switches so that the client attached to a port is invisable to other clients and can see a Gb switch for server and router access.

If this is possible, how would you do it?

    Thank You

    Herb

Herb , you can’t completely make him “invisible” . You can put him in a separate VLAN , or a separate IP subnet and use an apropriate net mask for the users. Or you can use a different protocol for him and load the same protocol on the server.

You can use a personal firewall software or the XP SP2 firewall.
But I think you will create more problems than you think you will solve.

You can use personal firewall software (ZoneAlarm) or the XP SP2 firewall.
